Slowly but Surely to Success

I have been working non-stop for many years now on achieving something great. Unbeknownst to me, this project of mine has been the culmination of many ideas that I have failed time and time again. However, what I have come to know and understand is that nothing great comes about without continuous failures; without continuous effort; without continuous education; and, without relentless will to not give up. This constancy in always aiming to improve your knowledge, skills, and abilities is what sets you apart from others who are unwilling to “go the extra mile.”

Do what you have to until you no longer need to.

I believe that we all have the ability to attain a level of freedom by which we feel little restricted in life, if we are willing to do anything in our power to achieve our greatest goals. Our goals must be great enough that they impact the lives of others in a positive way; that they solve peoples’s problems in one or many ways. Therefore, a key aspect of this truth is that there is great value to the solutions that make others’ daily lives easier, more efficient, or free from issues they might otherwise encounter.

Not the only ones

I’d imagine there are millions of people around the world who are working on coming up with a solution, a platform, a product, or a service that improves people’s lives or experiences. For example, I met Matt Smith, a 19-year-old entrepreneur and freelance videographer who recently started DoGoodCollab.

DoGoodCollab is a podcast that aims to “to align entrepreneurs and creatives of all kinds: in business, the arts, technology, social impact and so much more to benefit from the creative sparks of our diversity & feel a shared-mission & shared-enthusiasm towards making the world a better and a more interesting place.”

Unlike Matt, there are many who are still in the developmental stages of their great ideas. As I very well know from experience, the ideation stages of any idea can prove to be a stressful time of working out how to turn dreams into reality. Any individual who has wanted to do or create something great has gone through this stage. Likewise, they have gone through tremendous hard work to fulfill their goals than is often recognized. Fortunately, in the digital age, the step-by-step process is increasingly documented in the form of articles, stories, videos, blogs, vlogs, or documentaries. As a result, audiences are blessed with the creative works of artists, musicians, journalists, influencers, authors, comedians, actors, and any other occupation you can think of. It is no longer a surprise to find successful online entrepreneurs who make a living off of sharing their skills and abilities in the form of how-to videos, such as Glen Scott of DIY Creators. Glen is one of my all time favorites in the DIY niche, teaching his audience how to build their own home decor and furniture works with great detail and ease of design.

Finish what you started.

Can you imagine your world after you’ve accomplished what you have set out to do? I think this is an important step in achieving your goals. To see the end-result. To see the the experience you have created for yourself and for others after you have gifted the world with your creation. No matter your offering to the world, if it provides value to someone or to many, there is bound to be a sense of fulfillment, success, and a level of freedom unattainable in doing any work you don’t love. So no matter the position you are in at work, no matter the role you fulfill in your community, no matter the impact you have in others lives, love and passion for the work you do and the good you give to the world is bound to be valuable, both monetarily and intrinsically.
